Dear Naomi, I am so sorry to hear of Burt's passing. I was friends with Burt back in the 70's. Burt, Blaine, Shelly and I shared a house together on 127 street and 112 avenue. We had many great times together. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers.

I am saddened today to see in The Journal that Burt died. I had the pleasure of working with Burt at various times during our mutual employment with AADAC and then Alberta Health Services. Among his achievements, Burt was instrumental in helping to create a training course for new Addictions Counsellors. The course was focused on cocaine use, which was a specialty area for Burt. He was held in high regard by me and by other Addictions Counsellors for his ability to help clients change their lives. I liked him a great deal, and so did his many clients. To Burt's family and friends, I hope that your memories of Burt will soon bring you peacefulness and comfort.
