Dear Shirley, Our thoughts are with you. Our family enjoyed many wonderful visits with you and John over the years, both in Alberta and in Ontario (as well as the anniversary event in Saskatchewan). We have photos, videos, and our memories to help us remember his smile, his laugh, and his sense of humour. We will miss him, and hope to see you again soon.

Shirley and Family -
I write to express to you and your family the sincere condolences of the Patricia?s on the passing of John. I wrote when John had turned 90, and was hoping to be able to write again when he was 100, but none of us can control these paths. I will try to be on line on the 11th.
The Regiment remembers John's long service, from Korea forward, and you and your family are rightly proud of that service. His name will be read in this year?s list of the lost when we read that out on November 11th, 2021 in the Sacred Space in Beechwood, the National Military Cemetery, Ottawa. His name will also be listed in the 2021 edition of the Patrician?s Last Post section.
Thank you for obviously supporting John throughout his life - and we congratulate you on a long and successful marriage. We are glad that he had a vibrant family, and many friends.
Thank you all.

Dear Shirley. We send our deepest sympathy & condolences to you. We were so sorry to hear of John`s passing from my brother, Bob. We have fond memories of you & John when you came to Manitoba on different occasions, and of course from when we were in Calgary, as children, you would come to visit us from Edmonton. May the comfort of family and friends surround you & comfort you at this sad time.

Shirley,
There is so little we can say or do for you to help you in this time of your sorrow. Just know that our heartfelt thoughts and sympathy are there with you right now. May God comfort you and fill you with peace.

Shirley,
It has been several years since we have been neighbours in Cardiff Echoes and have fond memories of time spent with you and John. You were both so welcoming and considerate and we enjoyed our conversations. John was a kind man and we were fortunate to have met him.
Our heartfelt condolences,
Marcel and Annette St Arnaud
