To the family and friends of Mavis, Peter and I want to say how very privileged we were to know this wonderful lady. We met through our many years at the St Albert United Church and our lives intertwined on many occasions. I loved being part of the Women's retreat with Mavis, and felt so very close to her in many ways. She was always a thoughtful, kind and caring person. St Albert also became home for us in 1991, and Mavis was born just one small year ahead of me. We shall miss you terribly and our thoughts and prayers go out to all of the family. The service on line was very special Mary and Peter Jansen

So sorry to hear about your mother's death. It is always hard when you lose a parent. Often that is the last link to the older generation. You mother was such a kind and friendly person. She was always interested in the other person and their family. She was so proud of you girls and her grandchildren. Mavis had a sweet smile and little laugh that I fondly remember. Cherish all the wonderful memories you have of your mom.

Dear Heather and Alison and families, I am so sorry to hear of your momâ??s passing. I first met Mavis in Calgary as members of the PAC while Heather and my daughter Meredith were in kindergarten. Many years later our paths crossed again here in St. Albert, and Heather may remember scooping ice cream with Meredith. Your mom was a beautiful woman inside and out, and gave so much to all those around her. The service today was a lovely tribute to her life. My sincerest condolences, Marilyn Flockhart

I was so sorry to see that your mother had passed away. I grew up with Mavis and Vivian in Berwyn and have so many memories of the Beattie family. Mr. and Mrs. Beattie were always kind and welcoming to me and I remember often being invited to dinner at their home. Colin was my brother Bobâ??s friend so I knew him as well. I remember spending so much time with both girls, playing dolls in their house or mine, playing in the â?? woodsâ? next door to their home, walking to the movie theatre with Vivian and Mavis on Fridays and sitting in the same chairs every time, at the far end of the row with the red light at the base. I missed them all so much when they moved away. Mavis was a good friend, an important part of my childhood. Thinking of you all, and hoping that your memories of a wonderful mother and grandmother will help you in this very difficult time. Cookie Early FillIon
