I have been honoured to have been a close friend of Bettyâ??s for many years mostly through the church where both Betty and Garry were valued members we were part of a birthday group consisting of Janet Hughes, Hattie Griffis, Betty and I who celebrated each otherâ??s birthdays. Have kept in touch in later years after they moved to Canterbury and will miss her Scottish good humor so much

I have known Betty for well over 50 years. She and Gary were good friends of my parents, Brian and Belva Piercy. Betty went to UCW way back then and so did I. I can remember driving her and Doris Irwin to Robertson-Wesley United Church to attend Coffee Plus, a wonderful woman's program which provided coffee plus fitness plus an interest session. For the last several years I have visited Betty at Canterbury Manor. I loved hearing her proudly tell stories of her family. She was always very popular and had many visitors.
