Sorry to hear of the passing of your mother, Hugh. I only met her a few times but it was easy to see that she was a kind and gracious lady. My sincere condolences.

My heartfelt condolences to all the Read family. I remember Kay from my childhood living across the street and her long friendship with my mother, Frances Bell. I will cherish the wonderful conversation I had with her just a few years ago at my mother's birthday party in Leduc. She was an amazing woman and I know you will miss her greatly. With deepest sympathy, Bonnie Bell

Brian, Carmen, Hugh and Jim,
Your Mom was a very friendly and thoughtful lady, and your Dad was our dentist until they moved to Edmonton. Our pre-schooler Diane 'supervised' your family's packing (trailer) for your trip to Expo in 1967. Later, Diane and her younger brother, Darrell were thrilled to receive a postcard from the Reads. Your Mom mailed a trip diary to us for our 1976 trip to Disneyland in a rented motorhome. Reading that diary still amuses us.
May God bless each of you, and grant you strength and many treasured memories.

Dear Carmen, Hugh and Family,
I am sure you know that I loved your Mom. Not only do I feel blessed that I was able to look after her health needs for many years, I am also thankful to have had a wonderful friendship. Your Mom was an absolute joy to have as part of my Medicine Shoppe family. She was knowledgable, caring and motivated to live well. What a dream for a health care provider! Carmen, I am very grateful to have memories of Kay in my home. I share in your loss, and celebrate Kay's life.
Love,
Pam

to Carmen & Wilf and the Read family:
Sending heartfelt condolences to you all as your mother and grandmother took her place in the heavenly choir and joined her beloved Fred. She was grace and courage and compassion and integrity and LOVE. And I know this to be true: Love is love is love, and it doesn't stop when we shed our earthly shell. I hope you find comfort and peace in your memories of her, and your shared sense of loss and bewilderment to be in the world without her physical presence. She lives on through you all.
Much love,
Hope

Dear Hugh, Carmen, Jim, and the Read family,
Please accept the deepest condolences of myself and my family on the passing of your mother. We all remember your mother fondly and knew her and your father Dr. Fred Read as making very solid contributions to the health and welfare of many citizens of Leduc over many years. Thank you as well, Hugh, for your friendship and leadership in the field of technical English instruction at NAIT; your help and inspiration are very gratefully appreciated by myself in my continuing work at NAIT.
Most sincerely,
Richard McCarty
