Dear family, We were notified by our mutual niece, Sippi de Haan, of the passing away of your mother and grandmother and our aunt Alie. We sincerely send you all our condolences for your loss. We treasure very good memories of your parents and grandparents, when they visited Holland. In particular when they were at the home of our parents Roel and Jantje in IJmuiden/Heemskerk, it was a standard than to have smoked mackerel with baked potatoes and lettuce for diner. We all enjoyed that very much but especially your father and grandfather was really fond of this dish. To let go of your mother and grandmother although she reached such an old age is a very sad event. We wish you all strength in the coming time, also on behalf of my brothers Tjeerd, Jan and Henk (in loving memories) we send you our kind regards. Harry & Janneke Hogendoorn-de Haan

I will remember aunt Alice (and uncle Henry) as very friendly. They always stayed at my parents place when they were in the Netherlands. Those were very happy times. They got along very well with my parents and were my favorite aunt and uncle. I cherish the remembrance at my visit to them in 1972 and (with Aartje) in 2012. We wish you all the necessary strength to cope with this loss. However, we know she is at home.
