Dear Mr. Patchell, Graham, Karen, Lloyd and Elaine,
My heartfelt sympathy to you and your families. Betty was a cherished friend of my mother Dot, and an open-hearted, caring, neighbour to every member of the Nichol family. I easily recall her kindly gaze, quiet chuckle and genuine interest in our lives. We could not have had better people one house away. I am thankful to have known her and for her compassionate presence in the community. May it comfort you to know your gratefulness for her life and your sorrow at her passing are shared. Laurel Nichol

Please accept my deepest sympathy on the passing of Betty. I have known Betty since we worked at the government in the 1950's. Betty and her family have been friends of ours over the years, and I fondly remember Betty and Ross and our times together. She was a dear friend and I will miss her.

I want to send my heart felt condolences to all the family of Betty Patchell, especially Ross, Elaine, and David.
I met Betty at St. Andrew's United Church many years ago where she welcomed me whole heartedly. I looked for her smiling face every Sunday.
Betty will be sadly missed.
