To Chris and dear family, Ruth and Steve send our most heart-felt condolences to you all. We remember Susan very fondly through social occasions and her compassionate work as a Public Health nurse, and as a proud and active mother and grandmother, and as Chris?? life-long partner. May she rest in peace. A life well lived.

Dear Chris and Family,
I had the great fortune of knowing Susan for many years through her Public Health work in Fredericton, NB. She was always so positive and willing to help others. Her smile was so infectious. May your memories of your time together bring you comfort, peace and joy. I will be with you virtually this afternoon to watch Susan??s funeral on live stream.

Susan and I worked together in Public Health, Fredericton. She was a dedicated Public Health Nurse who greatly cared for both her patients and her colleagues. She had many interests that included knitting, smocking, gardening and traveling with her husband to far off places. It was easy to tell that she loved and treasured her family. She has gone far too soon. I am so sorry for her loss and may memories of this truly lovely person sustain those who knew her.

Chris,
Nicole and I are so sorry to hear of Susan's passing. We have many great memories of her going all the way back to when we moved to Fredericton over 30 years ago as a young couple starting a new life in a new province, Susan made us feel welcome. She helped us arrange to get us our first apartment when my english was too weak to do it myself. We have fond memories her at the public health office for our children immunization visits, at your house for dinners and Christmas get togethers... She has left an impression in our lives that will remain. Please accept our sincere condolences. Our sympathies to Alison and Peter as well.

Dear Chris and family, Monique and I were deeply saddened to hear of Susan??s passing. Please accept our deepest condolences. Susan was a soft-spoken, thoughtful and generous person. I remember fondly her offer to find Japanese dolls (and other gifts) that I was unsuccessfully trying to select for my daughters at a conference in Japan. She spent most of the next day sleuthing through local stores to find dolls and other gifts for me. My daughters loved all the gifts that Susan bought for me. We will always have fond memories of her.

Dear Chris, Alison, Peter and all your family,
I am so sorry that Susan had to leave everyone so soon. She was a wonderful person and we have so many fond memories of her, even though we lived so far apart.
We became friends when Chris was a post-doc in Brian??s lab in Riverside CA. Although our time together in Riverside was not very long, the connection remained forever. Mostly we were able to reunite at the SIP meetings.
I will never forget her driving to the children??s museum in Ashville NC through a torrential rainfall. It must have been very difficult to do that on unfamiliar roads with four kids and me in the vehicle. It rained so hard for a while we could not see and had to pull over to the side of the road. But she was very cool and competent. It turned out to be very worthwhile because the kids really loved the very interactive museum, especially the ??operating room? with a mannequin they could perform surgery upon.
Her presence was a super blessing to me and our son Chris on the night in Newport Beach when he took a header into the pool and needed to go to the emergency room to get stitches. Brian was hosting the SIP meeting and Susan volunteered to accompany Chris and me. She had a tremendously calming influence, and it was so wonderful to have someone at our side with her temperament and skills at a time like that.
I know Valery will cherish forever the adorable quilt Susan made for her when Val was born. All the lovely appliqued and embroidered Disney characters made it so much fun to look at. Maybe it will hang on her own child??s wall someday.
And then there was the time when Val was still tiny, and Susan put her and Peter together into the pram and Val bit Peter. Again, Susan was cool about it and just took it all in stride.
She was such a lovely person, and we all were so lucky to have her in our lives. It is incredibly unfortunate that she had to go through such an ordeal this past year. I am sure that, as you described, she took it all with courage and grace. She will be missed but also always remembered.
Sincerely,
Claire Federici

Dear Chris and children and grandchildren and extended family - I am so so sorry to learn that Susan has passed away. I did not know her well, but was struck by what a kind and generous person she was. I will always be grateful for the blessings of friendship and caring that she bestowed upon my late mother. She gave her comfort and joy beyond measure, and knowing that she was there allowed me to breathe easier living so far away. I'm so glad that you moved to Edmonton so that Susan and her grandchildren were able to enjoy each other and make memories that they can carry with them. May your soul Rest In Peace, Susan, and all the love and good deeds you gave in your life bring comfort to your loved ones. My sincere condolences.
