Richard remains bright in my memory for his ability to make everyone feel good about themselves, his sense of humour and for his many interests, and above all, his love of life and living it to the full. I recall with fondness our trip to Micronesia to scuba dive in the late 1980s. Richard took the best underwater pictures at 140 feet of minature Japanese tanks on the deck of the San Francisco Maru, sunk in WW2. We had a lot of fun on that trip, with many practical jokes being played and non stop laughing as I unknowingly carried a camera bag filled with a 40-once bottle of water for days on end never understanding why the bag was so heavy until boarding flights home. Richard was always there to give a helping hand whether it was rennovations to my home or taking on a leadership role as President of the Alberta Underwater Archaeoology Society. The Edmonton diving community knew Richard very well. Best wishes to Jeff who lost a great dad and to the rest of Richard's family. Take care during this difficult time of change.
