Dear Allen Family;
I want to give you all my condolences in the passing of Peter. I was an Emergency Nurse at the U of A from 1989 to 1997 before moving to Calgary and I recall the care and dedication that Dr. Peter Allen had for his patients. He was known as 'the best' and I know that he helped so many people in his chosen Profession. You should know that his reputation was a grand one and he truly made a difference for so many people who needed him. That is a gift when one has made such a difference in the world and was able to help others. You should feel such pride in this. I have held you in my prayers and I hope his memory always brings you peace and joy. Sincerely, Anne LaBelle-Tivey

We send our deepest sympathy and comfort to the family of Peter Allen. He gave us back our daughter 30 years ago and we are forever grateful.
He was a doctor who cared ,gave solace and confidence at a time when all our lives could have been severely impacted by a medical condition.
May he rest in peace.

It is with sadness and sincere gratitude that I write this letter. Dr Peter Allen came into my life 26yrs ago where he not only saved my life but gave me my life back. I had suffered a massive brain bleed in Jasper and was sent in to the University Hospital under the very fine care of Dr.Allen. He told my parents that he couldn't be 100% sure that I would come out of surgery with everything working,but I have to tell you that since that time I have become a Canadian Champion in my sport,a certified scuba diver,accomplished skier,raised two great children and been able to live life to the max!
Thank you Dr.Allen,without you I wouldn't be who I am today.
Sincerely

Dear Barbara and family
I fist knew your husband and father as a young scared student nurse on Nuerology at the University of Alberta Hospital. I will always remember his spirit with his patients, conscious or not and his kindness for NUBEES like me.He was a wonderful teacher and a compassinate human being.
The next connection was wnen my father was admitted to the UofA with a brain tumor. The resident was annoyed at having to see an 81 year old man (who was still working full time) . Dr. Allen felt it was operable. Hedid surgery for a benign meningioma and my father was back home in 5 days. He continued working part time for the next 5 yeas.He died at age 88 from unrelated causes.
We were so grateful to have that extra time with him.
May you be surrounded with love during this difficult time. Thank you for sharing him with us and with so many others
