Jean Coutts was our very capable lawyer. We did not hear about her sad, untimely death until recently. We both send our condolences to her husband, her son and other members of her family.
Coincidentally, our late daughter, our one and only child, who also was a lawyer, died of colon cancer at the age of forty years and two months. We also hope that a cure can be found soon for that dreadful disease.
May you be blessed by the pleasant memories you have of Jean.
Sincerely, Bill and Alberta Boytzun
With our sincere sympathy, Bill and Alberta Boytzun

Dear Chris:
I was saddened when I read the unexpected news of your wife, Jean?s passing. I just wanted you to know that Jean was considered by all the Judges of the Court of Queen?s Bench to be an outstanding lawyer of complete integrity but more importantly she was always a lady first. I offer my personal condolences to you and your family.
Yours sincerely,
The Honourable Allan Wachowich

I was aware from Diane and Andria that Jean had been diagnosed with cancer some time ago and that things had taken a turn for the worse recently. As cancer has been a frequent antagonist for the women of the Brickman line, it was especially sad to hear that Jean had been afflicted with an especially pernicious form. She died far too young. Jean was a delightful person, smart, talented, friendly, sophisticated but down-to-earth and modest. My heart goes out to you all. I hope that within our lifetimes, the scourge of cancer can be eradicated.

To Jean's family,
I am so sorry to hear about Jean. She and her parents were part of my (and my parents) life growing up in the small town of Forestburg. She was such a pleasant person who contributed so much. What a loss! Sincerely, Sylvia Krogh
