Following a brief journey with cancer, Frank passed away at the Venta Care Centre in Edmonton. He is predeceased by his eldest son John; his infant grandson John Raymond; parents Mary Djos and Frank Sr.; and sister Evelyn Kirk.
He is survived by his children, Catherine, Monica (Albert) Delorme, Norma Bonner, Lisa (Bob) Wardell and Gregory (Keshni); five grandchildren, Jesse, Michael, James, Paulina and Iain; three great-grandsons, Mason, Alexander and Orion. He is also survived by his sister, Betty Walker of Vancouver; and a large extended family in Canada and Italy.
Frank served 30 years with the Canadian Air Force Military Engineers. After retirement, he devoted his life to the service of others through his affiliations with the Edmonton Food Bank, Habitat for Humanity, Friends of Medicare, Kairos and In From the Cold, Calgary. Frank always loved and served God, and was active in various ministries in the Catholic Church in both Edmonton and Calgary until 2010 when his health began to fail. He will be fondly and lovingly remembered by all who knew him.
The family would like to thank his many caregivers at the Venta Care Centre who lovingly guided, supported and cared for all of us as Frank journeyed from this life into the arms of his Father.
A Prayer Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 6, 2015 at Foster & McGarvey Funeral Home, 10011-114 Street, Edmonton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, February 7, 2015 at St. Joseph’s Basilica, 10044-113 Street, Edmonton with cremation to follow.
