Suzanne Elaine Oakley (nee Dempsey), 70 years old, of Edmonton, Alberta, formerly of Herring Cove, NS passed away on June 2, 2015. Born in Halifax, she was the daughter of the late James V. and Mary M. (O’Brien) Dempsey of Herring Cove. She is survived by her children, Kristina E. of Illinois, USA, Derek J of Edmonton, AB, Paula L of Calgary, AB, and Jason J. of Edmonton, AB; sisters, Beverly Kaiser of Shortts Lake, NS, Mary Cochrane Williamswood, NS; nephews, Steven and Vincent Dempsey, Timothy Cochrane; and niece, Amy Cochrane. She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph D. Oakley; parents, Jim and Mary Dempsey; brother, Jeff Dempsey; and a niece, Pamela Cochrane. Cremation has taken place. Following Suzanne’s request, no service will take place. Donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or Charity of One’s Choice.
