On November 14, 2015, the Lord called home our much loved husband, father, and grandfather, at the age of 88. Although the last 23 months were difficult, he was always able to confess that his hope was in his Lord and Savior, whose "grace was sufficient".

He was a devoted husband of Tjeertdine; and much loved father of Janneke & Al VanderHoek, Cora & Rod Innes, and Bert. He will always be remembered by grandsons: Christopher (Samantha), Chad (Denise), Jeffrey (Mellisa), Muri, and David; as well as great granddaughters: Lorelai, Isabel, Alyssa, and Sarah.

Interment will take place at 12:00 p.m., Thursday, November 19, 2015 at Westlawn Cemetery, 10132-163 Street, Edmonton, Alberta, followed by a Memorial Service at 1:00 p.m., Thursday, November 19, 2015 at Providence Canadian Reformed Church, 12905-122 Avenue, Edmonton, Alberta.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to the Cross Cancer Institute, as well as Dr. M. Clark and the remarkable staff at Norwood Palliative Care Unit.
