of Edmonton
Apr 14, 1960 - Nov 15, 2015
It is with sadness in our hearts that we announce the death of Our Beloved Diane – Lightbearer, Teacher, Healer, Trailblazer & Global Canadian. Her spirit passed peacefully on November 15th at 9:23am, at her home in Edmonton, surrounded by her family.
Diane lived a short but fulfilled and successful life, travelling and working around the world, touching the lives of many with her infectious spirit and energy. Her career started in Edmonton as a Wholistic health practitioner where she owned Life Rhythms and published a Wholistic health magazine. She was commended for this work by the YWCA with the nomination of Woman of The Year in the early 90s. She relocated to England in 1997 with her husband and daughter to open the European office of his company, Crystal Mountain Products Ltd. This new chapter saw her shift to the corporate world, though she always maintained and shared her wisdom from her Wholistic roots. Her refreshing approach to business led to her being appointed to the Executive Committees of the British Bottled Water Association and the European Bottled Water Association. She became Chair of the International Council of Bottled Water Associations after several years serving on the board, an achievement she was extremely proud of. She achieved great success in all her endeavors and is remembered for her contributions to both the Wholistic health community in Edmonton and the international bottled water industry.
She was blessed with a few months in remission after being diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia 16 months ago, during which time she married the love of her life, met her new grand-daughter, visited with dear friends and family and reconnected with her Spiritual-self. Sadly the leukemia returned in May of this year. After a seemingly successful bone marrow transplant, we learned on Friday November 6th that the leukemia had returned and she had just weeks to live. She rallied through treatment like the Warrior Goddess she is, remaining positive in the face of adversity, riding the rollercoaster of cancer with much grace and hope. Her wish was to return to her native Edmonton and so she made the long journey from her home in England on Wednesday November 11th with her husband, daughter and mother. With her wish granted and surrounded by those she loved, she joined her cherished Angels and now watches over us all.
Diane is survived by her devoted husband, Fred Partington; mother, Elaine Roberts daughter, Katy Koyich-Pourrat; Beau-fis Maxime Pourrat; sister Lindsay Jacobs; nieces Emrys Jacobs and Raven Porteus; grandaughter Aliza Dee Barer; beau-brother Anthony Partington; belle-daughter Vanessa Partington (Michael Barer); belle-mother Claudine Koyich; belle-sister Sandy Snider (Gary Snider); and belle-niece Becky Snider (Mike Bezpaly); as well as all of the extended family and friends that she touched, taught and loved during her lifetime.
