A. Douglas McGregor

We are sad to announce that Douglas passed away August 20, 2016 at the age of 71. He will be dearly missed and forever loved by his uncle, Andrew Douglas Watson of Edmonton, as well as numerous relatives in Alberta, British Columbia, Ontario, United States and the United Kingdom.

Douglas was predeceased by his father Andrew (Vandy) McGregor in 1988; his mother Eva Duncan McGregor in 2014; and his brother, Bruce McGregor, earlier this year. He attended Ridley College in St. Catharines, Ontario and graduated with a degree from the University of Alberta's Faculty of Arts. Douglas then joined his parents in the family business, McGregor Construction, where he later became president.

Douglas enjoyed socializing with friends and family. He especially enjoyed talking about politics. He followed in the footsteps of his parents and gave generously to the arts community and other charities in Edmonton.

A Memorial Service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at Foster & McGarvey Funeral Home, 10011 - 114 Street, Edmonton.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the University Fund at the University of Alberta.
