(Maiden: Exley)
of Edmonton
Apr 18, 1921 - Sep 10, 2016
On September 10, 2016 Kay went to be with her Maker.
Born April 18, 1921 in Maltby, England, she always referred to herself as a "Yorkshire" lass. As a child she moved to Calgary and later, as a young woman returned to Britain, married and had a son, Lance. After the death of her husband, Robert, she returned to Canada, married again and had four daughters: Diana, Andrea, Glennis and Darleen.
Kay was predeceased by her brothers, Arthur and Leonard; her sisters, Laura and Doreen; her daughter, Andrea; her granddaughter, Julie; and a great-grandson, Tyson. She leaves behind four children, Lance Gray (Margaret), Diana St. Germain (Emile), Glennis McMullen, and Darleen Colahan; six grandchildren, Michelle (Bob), Renee (Robert), Jason, Cristin, Deborah and Travis (Paula); four great-grandchildren, Alexandra, Nicole, Nicholas and Amanda; two great-great-grandchildren, Fox and Pepper; and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
Kay was always a deeply religious person and found great strength in her Christian beliefs and community. Kay was always filled with wanderlust and loved to travel. She has been through Europe, seen the pyramids, stood in the river Jordan and walked the Great Wall of China. In her late eighties she travelled to Argentina, the Falkland Islands and the Antarctic.
She will be sadly missed.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 16, 2016 at Holy Trinity Anglican Church, 10037-84 Avenue NW, Edmonton.
