On April 18, 2017, Willie passed away peacefully in Edmonton at the age of 73.
He is survived by his sister, Sheila Moberg; the love of his life, Joyce Pangburn; cousins, Tom and Rae of Washington; good friends, Judy Leyden, Bob and Ruth, Pat and Jeannette of Edmonton, Don and Leslie of B.C., Joe and Jeanne, Jim, Ron, Linda and Mike of Washington; daughter, Cathy; three grandchildren, Crystal, Cory and Chloe; his "kitty bears"; numerous relatives and friends.
Willie was predeceased by his mother, Violet (Al) Bowie and by his father, Eddie (Laura).
Willie worked for the Edmonton Journal in the late ‘60’s then relocated to Everett, Washington where he attended college. He later began working as a writer and editor for the Marysville Globe. Willie’s passion was in art and writing short stories and poems. He will be remembered for his generosity, compassion and loving spirit. He will be missed by many and loved by all.
At Willie’s request, no formal service will be held.
