It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Roger Gilmore Carry on December 12, 2017, at the age of 81 years.
Roger will be forever loved and remembered by his wife Kathy; children, Roger (Joanne), Devon (Vince), and Will (Sandra); grandchildren, Roger, Patrick, Britta, Allison, Gilmore, Sawyer, Eden, Emma, Coleman, William and Reegan; extended family and numerous friends
Roger attended Garneau School in Edmonton from grade one to twelve. He then successfully obtained his CA designation with KPMG.
Roger in conjunction with his father Bill Carry, acquired the structural steel business from Canron. This was the re-creation of C.W. Carry Ltd. from the mid 1940’s. In 1971 a new facility was built and operations were relocated to 75 Street to meet the needs of a growing industrial base.
For better than 70 years C.W. Carry has remained a vital component of the Edmonton economy. With this success in business, Roger was quietly generous to many causes in Edmonton.
Outside of business, Roger was an avid car collector, golfing buddy at Mayfair, and enjoyed many weekends with family and friends at Pigeon Lake. He never missed a birthday or an opportunity to review school report cards with his 11 grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, December 20, 2017 at Mayfair Golf Club, 9450 Groat Road NW, Edmonton.
