With overwhelming sadness, we announce the passing of Jim Gilfillan, who died January 3, 2018 at the age of 84.

Jim was predeceased by his parents, James and Emma and brothers, Ken and Vern. He is survived by Caroline, the love of his life and wife of 61 years; children, Scott Gilfillan, Darcie (Colin) Fred and Lisa (Lee) Foreman; grandchildren, Amanda Norris, James Gilfillan, Haley Gilfillan, Jackson Foreman, Taylor Foreman and Connor Foreman, and several nieces and nephews.

Jim is also survived by the students and players, too numerous to count, who’s lives he touched in his 38 years teaching and coaching in the city of Edmonton.

A Celebration of Jim’s Life will be held on Wednesday, January 17th at 2:00, Foster and McGarvey Funeral Home, 10011 – 114 Street, Edmonton.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the "Carol Gilfillan Fund" at the Edmonton Community Foundation. Proceeds from this fund are used to support under privileged youth in Education and Sport.
