Sharon Tilley

It is with great sadness that our family announces the peaceful passing of our wife, mother and grandmother, Sharon Tilley, on March 14, 2018 at the age of 77.

Sharon will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 57 years, Barry; and by her daughters Lori (Brian) and Lisa (Jo). She will be forever cherished by her grandchildren Malori (Geoff) and Mason (Kelsey). She also leaves to mourn her sister, Deborah (Hank), numerous nieces and nephews, extended family, and many dear friends.

Sharon was predeceased by her parents, Eric and Florence Boulter; and her brother, Eric Jr.

Sharon was born and raised in Winnipeg, but moved to Sherwood Park in 1963. She and Barry enjoyed many aspects of life in the community including association with the Strathcona County Fire Department and the Cutty Sark Club which she fondly referred to as ‘The Lake’. They also enjoyed traveling to their winter home in Mesa, Arizona.

When they first moved to Alberta, Sharon worked as a legal aide and an administrative assistant. For over 30 years, she was the friendly and helpful voice at meetings and over the phone for the Local Alberta Teacher’s Association.

Sharon will be remembered for her kind and generous spirit. She also had a very special place in her heart for fur babies of every kind. Sharon’s love for her grandchildren was reflected in her unwavering bond and commitment to them and to many others who called her Nana.

A Celebration of Sharon’s life will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at the Bethel Lutheran Community Church, 298 Bethel Drive, Sherwood Park.

In lieu of flowers, those wishing to do so may make a donation in Sharon’s memory to The Canadian Cancer Society.
