The family of William J. Drager announces his peaceful passing on Monday, March 19, 2018 after a short illness at the age of 87.

He will be dearly missed by his beloved wife, Helen, sons, Jay (Gail), Dean (Barb Shannon) and adored grandchildren, Kent (Marina Muenchrath) and Alison (Laurie) Holmes.

For most of his working life Bill was a firefighter in Edmonton until his retirement as District Chief in 1990. For many years he was a proud and active member of the executive of the Canadian Firefighters Curling Association. He and Helen enjoyed many years of travel; however, his favorite summer destination was the cabin on Lake Wabamun. Ever the gracious hosts, he and Helen eagerly welcomed family and friends to delight in the late afternoon happy hour.

Much else could be said, but for those who knew him, Bill’s actions spoke for themselves. Bill was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and we will miss him terribly. A private family service has taken place.
