GOD IS OUR REFUGE AND STRENGTH

On Monday, July 23, 2018, the Lord called home our mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Johanna Hamstra. She passed peacefully at the age of 91.

Johanna will be remembered with love by her son, Maynard (Jill) Hamstra and daughter, Glenda (Tom) DeGraaf; 6 grandchildren, Jeff (Ashley) Hamstra, Josh (Alana) DeGraaf, Ben (Lindsay) DeGraaf, Julia (Mark) Lefebvre, Andrea (Dirk) Vis, and Rachel DeGraaf; 15 great-grandchildren; 2 bothers in Holland, Warrie (Gee) Harms and Minne (Coby) Harms; and other in-laws, nieces, and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Wiebe; her parents, Warner and Louisa Harms; stepmother, Margriet; brother, Henk, and 2 sisters, Paula and Sentien, all from Holland.

Johanna had a great love for her family and a fun-loving spirit that she shared with all. She had a peaceful trust in the Lord and will be greatly missed by her family.

Friends wishing to pay their respects may do so on Friday, July 27, 2018 from 7 to 8:30 pm at the Foster and McGarvey Funeral Home, 10011 114 Street, Edmonton. Interment for family and close friends will be held on July 28, followed by a Memorial Service at 11:30 a.m. at Trinity Christian Reformed Church, 13427 57 Street.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Emmanuel Home.
