Esther Mary Muir (nee Kerk-Hecker) born August 23, 1926 in Canstatt, Germany; died July 11, 2018 age 91 in Edmonton, Alberta.

Esther’s family emigrated to Canada when she was an infant. Raised and educated in Vancouver, B.C., she moved to Calgary and was a laboratory technician at Calgary General Hospital. Esther married Herbert "Bert" Muir, and had a son, Steven Craig. She was a long-time member and secretary at Mount Calgary Lutheran Church. She was predeceased by her husband, Bert and brother, John; survived by son, Steven and wife, Susan Crawford.

Esther was a quiet, thoughtful person – a wonderful mother and a life-long spiritual seeker. She is sadly missed.

A Memorial Service will take place at Highwood Lutheran Church, 419 Northmount Dr. NW, Calgary, AB on Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at 1:15 p.m.
