On January 11, 2019, Cornelia passed away peacefully in her sleep and went to be with her Heavenly Father.
Cornelia is survived by her loving husband, Dirk; their five children Mike Schouten, Paul (Heather) Schouten, Joan (Armando) Silveira, David (Stephanie) Schouten and Doug (Monica) Schouten; as well as thirteen grandchildren Maxwell, Matthew, Gabriel, Alexander, Carl, Elijah, Wade, Joshua, Aaron, Levi, Jayden, Lydia and Magdalene. She is predeceased by her parents, Gerret and Dirkje Vanderlaan.
The internment will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday January 19, 2019 at Westlawn Memorial Gardens (16310 Stony Plain Road NW, Edmonton) with a Celebration of Cornelia’s Life to follow at 11:00 a.m. at Cornerstone United Reformed Church of Edmonton (11610-95A Street NW, Edmonton).
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Parkinson Association of Alberta.
