When Malcolm passed away on February 1 at the age of 92, we lost a proud Albertan, a stalwart Edmontonian and a warm and loving soul who believed first and foremost in the power of family.
He is survived by his wife Margaret (Marge); children, Carol, Sandy (Miles), Callum (Judy) and Laurie (Gino); stepchildren, Brad (Cheryl) and Shannon (Mark); 6 grandchildren, Connor, Alex, Cole, Morgan, Parke and Hunter; 5 step-grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.
Malcolm tackled life with a smile. He loved to spend time with friends and family (of whom he was immensely proud). He loved to read, travel, golf, winter in Arizona, learn people’s stories, sing whenever he got a chance, and think up bad puns. He had a knack for running into people he knew in the weirdest places (i.e. under a waterfall in Niagara) and for getting lost and ending up in the train yard of many of the cities he visited.
Malcolm was always a caregiver and humbly spent his life ensuring his loved ones had all they needed. His love, sense of humour, and gentle, formative influence will be forever missed by his sister, Margaret Little, and his many nieces, nephews and friends. Malcolm will be fondly remembered by all those whose lives he touched.
A Funeral Service and reception will start at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 9, 2020 at Foster McGarvey Funeral Home, 10011 - 114 Street NW, Edmonton.
In lieu of flowers, donations in Malcolm's name may be made to the Stollery Children’s Hospital.
