It is with great sadness that the family announces that our papa, Fernand, passed away on Sunday, March 8, 2020 after a brief illness.

Fern is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Elza; children: Denis (Rollande), Laurent (Lucille), Bernard (Karen), Guy (Brenda), Dolores (Kevin), Jacqueline (Ron), and Paulette (Aain); grandchildren: Alec, Jacques, Charla, Marie (Sue), Patrick, Delia (David), Stephanie, Dominique (Attila), Michael, Zachary, Danielle (Paul), Rebecca, Aaron, and Renée as well as eleven great-grandchildren.

Fern was predeceased by his daughter, Monique.

Fern was born in Gravelbourg, Saskatchewan and moved to Edmonton in 1947 where he met Elza and where they raised their family. His career included various endeavors including founding "Forest of Jewels". Since retiring in 1989, Fern has spent time traveling with Elza, playing baseball and guitar and enjoying time with friends and family. Fernand était fier d’être membre de longue durée du 4e Degré, Assemblée Maurice Beauregard O.M.I des Chevaliers de Colomb.

A Private family service will be held.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations in memory of Fernand may be made to Catholic Social Services Sign of Hope, c/o Catholic Social Services, 8815-99 Street, Edmonton, AB, T6E 3V3.
