James was predeceased by his parents James and Mary, and sisters Gladys and Louise.
James was born in Minto, New Brunswick, on March 4, 1936. He was the 5th child, and only son of his parents. James began working in the Minto coal mines alongside his father as a teenager, picked strawberries as a youngster, set pins in the local bowling alley, and drove 1 of 4 taxis in Minto. He grew to be a construction Foreman of over 20 years and was highly respected by his crew.
James had a wonderful sense of humor, seeing humor in everyday life. He loved to laugh and joke, and made those around him laugh too, especially his wife Frances. James was an avid hunter, outdoorsman and storyteller, captivating anyone who listened with the tales of his life's experiences. His grandchildren especially enjoyed listening to him around the campfire at the family cabin near Skeleton Lake, Alberta.
James had a deep conviction in his relationship with the Lord and is now resting in His loving arms.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the doctors and nurses at the Royal Alexandra Hospital for their wonderful care and gentle touch that James received before his passing.
