Lee-Ann Jayne Peters (Lee) of Stony Plain passed away on April 11, 2022 at the age of 60 after a long battle with pulmonary fibrosis and lung cancer. She was born to Don and Betty Jess in Calgary, AB. She grew up in Claresholm, and studied Rehabilitation Services at Lethbridge Community College. She met Bill there in the Rodeo Club, and they were married in 1982. They lived in Fort McMurray, Lethbridge and Vermilion before settling down in Stony Plain in 1991. Lee's jobs and volunteer activities were always focused on providing care and a better quality of life for other people. She worked at bettering the lives of disabled children and adults in Lethbridge, Stony Plain and Mexico. She dedicated over 20 years of her life to working with the Good Samaritan Society in Stony Plain and Spruce Grove to improve the quality of life of the senior residents who lived there. Lee was also a volunteer and served on the board at the Light Up Your Life Palliative Hospice Society in Parkland County for 25 years.
Lee is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Bill; her children Luke (Stefani) Peters and Lindsey (Cody) Kaupp; and her "Fab Five" grandchildren; Cole, Reid and Levi Peters and Jessica and Kara Kaupp. Her brother Kevan (Carolyn) Jess, her sisters Jill (Omer) Dechaine and Sue (Mike) Landgrebe. Also her aunt Thelma Brown and cousins Lance and Stacey.
On Bill's side of the family she is survived by his brother John (Kathy) Peters, sister-in-law Wendy Peters, sister Ruth (Albert) Pauls, stepfather Rev. John Penner, step siblings Doug (Lisa) Penner, Terry (Laura) Penner, and Sheila (Bill) Froese. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews and special friends.
She was predeceased by her parents Don and Betty Jess, her uncle Barry and cousin Ashley, and by Bill's parents Rev. John and Helena Peters, and brother-in-law Dave Peters.
Memorial Service to be held at 2pm on April 23rd, 2022 at St. Augustine's Parkland Church at 131 Church Rd, Spruce Grove. Reverend Neil Gordon officiating. Service will be live streamed on the church website. On the homepage, scroll down and on the left-hand side choose "Join or view an online service", then choose "Go to our Youtube channel" and Lee's picture and memorial service link will appear.
