of St. Albert
Apr 10, 2022
Unexpectedly but peacefully, Ann passed away on April 10, 2022, at the Sturgeon Community Hospital in St. Albert, AB at the young age of 95 years. Ann was predeceased by her loving husband, William Turnbull; sister, Josephine; and brother, Steve.
Ann will be forever missed by her children, Ron (Tillie) and Sherrie (Bob); grandchildren, Michael and Nicole; and great-granddaughter, Anouk. Ann was blessed with a loving family of nieces, Colleen, Debbie and Jay; nephew, Doug; their families; and an extended family of friends who will also deeply miss her.
Our mother was born in Slovakia and immigrated to Canada with her parents prior to WWII. She and her family built a happy life in Canada, first in Edson and finally in Edmonton. Ann will be remembered for her generous and caring nature and never-ending love for her family. Her family were her pride and joy. She was a role model to everyone who knew her, and - despite life's challenges - she never gave up and always enjoyed life to its fullest. Her strength, courage, and determination were truly inspirational. She loved people and was the life of the party wherever she went.
Ann loved to travel and took many trips to Europe and on cruises with her late husband, Bill. Ann was able to travel to the village in Slovakia where she was born with her brother, Steve, prior to his passing.
In keeping with Ann's wishes there will be no funeral. A small Celebration of Ann's Life will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, April 20, 202,2 at Foster and McGarvey Funeral Home, 10011-114 St., Edmonton, AB.
Ann will be desperately missed and leaves a void in all our lives. The family are eternally grateful to the wonderful staff at Shephard's Care, in particular those providing home care.
