Johan "John" Van Santen

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Johan "John" van Santen. John passed peacefully with his wife at his side on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, at the Lamont Health Care Centre.

Born in Utrecht, the Netherlands, John married Dini in 1966, moved his young family overseas to Edmonton, Alberta, in 1975, and settled in Sherwood Park shortly thereafter. He spent his working years taking great pride in his craft of carpentry.

John is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Dini; his daughters, Ria and Iris (Jevon); his grandchildren, Braedan and Sydnee (Mike); his great-granddaughter, Marley; and his sister, Hanna.

A small Private Service for the family has been held.

Many thanks to all the wonderful healthcare professionals who helped care for John and his family during his very challenging battle with dementia.
