The family of Val Gant, of Edmonton, is saddened to announce her passing on March 17, 2023, at the age of 100 years.

She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Gary (Helen) Gant, Guy (Lynda) Gant, Lorna Gant (Bob Noga); 5 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; her sister, Jane Young; brother, Louis (Sally) Sniezek; and sister, Sylvia Baughn; as well as numerous relatives and friends.

Val was predeceased by her husband, Douglas Gant; her brothers, Ted Simpson and John Sniezek; and her parents, Joseph and Helen Sniezek.

Over many years, Val used her talents in the kitchen to create literally thousands of amazing dinner occasions for family and friends. Val was also a very accomplished seamstress and crafted a wide variety of custom-made garments which she gifted on a regular basis. Val enjoyed golf with her friends at the Glendale Golf and Country Club, as well as travels with friends and to visit family.

Val will be remembered as meeting all of life's challenges as a Thoughtful, Kind, Generous, Strong, Creative, Gracious, and Elegant lady. A long and productive life very well lived.

At Val's request, no service will be held.

Cremation to take place in the following days.
