It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Shirley on April 5, 2023.

Shirley was born in Edmonton to her parents, Charlie and Alison Wentworth, with a sister, Annie. She is predeceased by her parents; her loving husband, Vernon; sister, Annie; nephew, Dennis Brault, in-laws, Walter, Olga, Gilbert and Ida Ludwig; Walter and Dori Askin; and many loved relatives and friends.

She is survived by her son, Vince; daughter-in-law, Debra; grandson, Brett; granddaughter, Amanda; cousin, Audrey Swab; Stratichuk family; cherished nieces, nephews, friends, and family; as well as treasured relatives in Scotland and England.

Respecting Shirley's wishes, no formal funeral service will take place, however, a visitation and reception will take place between 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. on Monday, April 17, 2023, at Foster and McGarvey Downtown Funeral Home, 10011-114 St, Edmonton, where the family ask that you join them to recall memories of Shirley. A Christian graveside service at Beechmount Cemetery will follow the visitation.
