1934-2023



Our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and aunt passed away with her family by her side on the 14th of July 2023 at the age of 88 years.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 68 years, Ronald; children: Carol, Susan (Allan) and Craig (Margaret); grandchildren: Scott, Hailey, Michael, Erin, Amy and Ashlene; great grandchildren: William, Imogen, Jordan, and Abigail Irene; sister, Evelyn Wallace; as well as numerous other relatives.

She was predeceased by her brother, Alex; sisters: Isabel and Patricia; and her parents: James Alexander Wallace and Lillian Daley.

Irene was born in Vancouver, and moved to Sherwood Park in 1957 where she lived most of her life.

She was named after the "HMS Princess Irene", whom her Scottish grandfather (Chief Engineer) James Wallace died aboard off of Sheerness, Kent in 1915.

Her favourite quote was: "This too shall pass and life be sweeter".

The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff of Laurier and Harvest House for their care and compassion.
