Maria Agatha Johanna Nichols, formerly Deinbeck, nee Beeloo (December 1925- August 2023)  

A loving, Mother, Oma (Grandmother), Great Grandmother and Sister. Our Ria passed away peacefully on August 30, 2023, in the arms of loving family at Kipnes Center for Veterans in Edmonton, Alberta. Our beloved Mom and Oma was 97 when she was called away.  

The Matriarch of a large family, Ria is survived by and will be eternally missed by loving daughters Sylvia (Chuck), Anita (Mike), Janet (Ken), Andrea (Steve), and Gloria (Peter).  She will also be lovingly missed by her grandchildren, Lisa (Rob), Nicole (Hal), Jennifer (Trevor), Kim (Paul), Anjie, Kenny (Marci), Michael (Amanda), Danny (Luisa), Kristin (Grant), Adam (Amanda), Matthew (Sarah); and her twelve great grandchildren, Daniella, Julia, Sasha, Kaden, Gavin, Alayna, Gage, Carter, Daniel Jr, Aaron, Anastasia, Carlena, and Kaylee who will cherish her always and carry on her legacy.  

Born in The Hague, Netherlands in December of 1925, Maria Beeloo married Andreas Deinbeck in Holland and they immigrated to Canada in 1952, with the first of their daughters. They settled in Edmonton where the family grew with four more daughters. Ria worked as an Office Clerk, Telephone Operator, Canadian Forces Reservist and Homemaker. She loved reading, mysteries and true crime particularly. She had a keen interest in news and current events and loved soap operas and game shows.  She faithfully did the journal crossword puzzle daily. She enjoyed scrabble and word games as well.  She maintained a sense of humor, with a wry smile and a forever-sparkle in her eyes (as well as her adorable Dutch accent) until the very last.

She will be sorely missed and precious memories will be cherished and live on in all her children and their families.
