A beautiful person with a sweet and kind soul, Joan, Aka "Joanie", went to join her mother and father on December 23rd, 2023, with family by her side.

Joan faced many health challenges throughout her life, but met each one with dignity and grace. Her final battle was with cancer.

Joan was born in Lamont, Alberta, to Joseph and Helen (nee: Kachur) Bruchal, and lived in the St. Michael area attending Lamont High School. Subsequently, she briefly attended NAIT in dental assisting. Her later years were spent residing in Villa Margueite, in Edmonton.

Joan enjoyed family gatherings and several trips to Mexico, Disney Land, Las Vegas, and Arizona.

She will be missed by her brother, Al (Karen) Bruchal, of Mukilteo, Washington; and her sister, Evelyn (Jim) Serink, of Sturgeon County, Alberta; along with 5 nieces and nephews; and 8 grand nieces, and grand nephews.

Joan was predeceased by her parents, Joseph and Helen Bruchal; and her sister Marilyn.

The family wishes to extend our thanks to family and friends for their visits and kindness during her life, and final days.

A celebration of life will be held in spring of 2024.
