It is with great sadness that the family of Ronald Elmer Tkachuk announces his passing at Youville Home St Albert on January 30th, 2024.
He was born to Sylvester and Mary Tkachuk on November 30, 1937, in Vegreville Alberta. Ron graduated from Hairy Hill High School and received his degrees in Science and Education from the University Alberta.
Ron married Delsie Penchuk on October 7th, 1961, and together they raised three boys, Daryl, Robert, and Blayne.
Ron, who spent 28 years as an educator with Edmonton Public Schools, touched the lives of countless students and colleagues with his unwavering passion for teaching and nurturing young minds.
Ron's love for nature and the great outdoors was evident to anyone who had the privilege of knowing him. His acreage of flowers and fruit trees was an oasis in an otherwise busy world.
Beyond his passion for nature, Ron's devotion to his family was unparalleled. He cherished the moments spent with his wife, children, and grandchildren, making sure to create lasting memories filled with laughter and love. Family gatherings were a source of joy for Ron, where he could often be found behind the lens, capturing every precious moment.
Ron is survived by his wife Delsie; his sons, Daryl (Virginia), Robert (Colleen), and Blayne (Esther); Gido will be greatly missed by cherished grandchildren, Shannon, Meghan, Elena, Cole, Shae, and Roan. Ron also leaves behind two brothers, Marvin (Georgina) and Gary (Terri); as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
As per Ron's wishes no funeral will be held. A celebration of life will take place at a later date.
