In the early hours of March 11, 2024, the angels took another grandmother home to the Lord. Eleanor was born in September of 1930, in Springhill, Nova Scotia.

Eleanor was predeceased by her husband, Raymond Gerald Smith. She is now with the many who predeceased her: mother & father, Natalie and Henry McMasters; infant brother, Joseph; along with her brothers, John, Andrew, Gordon, and Earl; and sisters, Beatrice, Ida, Evelyn, Phyllis, Marian, and Doris. She is also predeceased by her son, Jerry; and grandson, Tyson.

She leaves behind her daughter, Carol; and grandson, Troy; along with great-grandchildren, Nolan, Emery, and Asher. She will be missed by many friends and children, all who knew her as Grandma. Eleanor was loved greatly, and she will be missed.

Memorial Donations in Eleanors name may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

The family would like to give many thanks to the care given to Eleanor at the Edmonton General Hospital and for the services of Foster & McGarvey Funeral Home.
