Gordon John Russell

On May 13, 2024, Gordon John Russell died at the age of 90.

He was an airline pilot and self professed life long aviation enthusiast. Gordon did his first solo flight at age 14, got his private pilot's license at age 16, commercial pilot's license at age 19, and flew up until he was 90 years old. By the time he finished flying, he had amassed over 27000 hours of flying time. Gordon built two airplanes from scratch, and his love of airplanes continued in his retirement where he enjoyed rebuilding them.

Gordon was predeceased by his wife, Martha, in 1999 and is survived by his three children; six grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 25, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Albert Evangelical Lutheran Church, 11 Glenview Crescent, St. Albert.
