Urban Joseph Bogusz, known affectionately as Urban to his friends and family, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2024, in Edmonton, Alberta. Born in May of 1939, in Warsaw, Poland, Urban's journey brought him to Canada, where he wove the tapestry of his life with diligence, passion, and an ever-present smile.

Urban leaves behind a legacy of love and dedication, most notably to his beloved wife of 57 years, Annette, with whom he shared a life rich in joy and companionship. Together, they navigated the joys and sorrows of life, including the profound loss of their son, Grant. Urban's surviving son, Brian, will remember his father as a beacon of guidance and strength, a man whose love knew no bounds.

Educated at the University of Alberta, Urban's pursuit of knowledge led him to a successful career in pharmacy. His entrepreneurial spirit shone brightly when he opened his own drugstore in 1974, a community cornerstone that he would operate with compassion and excellence until his retirement in 2010. His dedication to his profession extended beyond the walls of his business, as he involved himself in associations that echoed his commitment to healthcare and community service.

Urban's interests painted the picture of a man who cherished both the serenity and the excitement life had to offer. He found solace in the majestic mountains of Banff, where the beauty of nature served as a backdrop to moments of reflection and family adventures. Equally, he reveled in the thrills of hockey, passionately supporting the Edmonton Oilers through every season, sharing in the city's collective spirit.

Those who knew Urban would describe him as loving—a word that truly encapsulates the essence of his being. His love was a constant, unwavering force that uplifted those around him.
