It is with profound sadness that the family of Ronny Johan announce his peaceful passing on August 13, 2024, at the age of 81 years.

He will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 59 years, Yvonne; children, Grace (Adam) and Suzanne (Naushad); grandchildren, Joshua, Alissa, Viola, and Jessica; brothers and sisters, Artie (Titi), Rex (Vonny), Ria, Reenie (Bart), and Erick (Laura); nephews; as well as numerous relatives and friends.

Ronny was predeceased by his parents, Louis and Jans Johan, and Frieda Beets.

Ronny was a wonderful husband, father and opa – his family always came first. Born in Bandung, Indonesia, then moved to the Netherlands, Ronny married his lovely wife and became a great dad to his two girls. Ron decided that new adventures in Canada were on the horizon for his family so here we are – a family that he can be proud of always.

Ron/Pa/Opa: We will continue to look up to you and remember your values and your love for us always.

A Celebration of Ronny’s Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, August 26, 2024, at Foster & McGarvey Downtown Funeral Home, 10011 114 Street NW, Edmonton, AB, T5K 1R5.

In lieu of flowers, Memorial Donations may be made in the name of Ronny Johan to Pilgrim Hospice – Roozen Family Hospice Society.

The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff and doctors at the University of Alberta Hospital - Kaye Clinic, Dr. D. Sun and the Pilgrim Hospice Society for their care and compassion.
