With much love and sadness, the family of Elaine Pittman of Edmonton, would like to announce that The Lord called her home peacefully and gently on Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at the age of 79 after a lengthy illness.

Elaine will be deeply missed by her brother, Richard Pittman; nephews, Rod (Betty Ann Thibodeau) Pittman and Wayne (Tammy) Pittman; nephew-in-law, Drew Purkis; great-nephews, Jason (Amanda) Thibodeau, Matthew (Christine) Pittman-Purkis, and Christian Pittman; and great-niece, Jillian (Garrett Benoit) Pittman.

Elaine was predeceased by her mother, Germaine (Lauze) Pittman; father, Sidney George Pittman; stepfather, Lucien Provost; brother, Sidney Pittman; sister-in-law, Pauline Pittman; and niece, Carrie Pittman-Purkis.

In her younger years, Elaine loved to travel and toured around Europe. Elaine worked at the Misericordia and Royal Alexandra Hospitals for many years and developed some special relationships with many of the people she worked with. Over the years, Elaine had a special place in her heart for her cats and each one was loved and provided great companionship for her.

Cremation has taken place, and a Service of Remembrance will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 6, 2024, at St. Albert Catholic Church, (7 St. Vital Ave, St. Albert, Alberta, T8N 1K1). Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery & Mausoleum, (14611 Mark Messier Trail, Edmonton, Alberta, T6V 1H4).

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to: Kidney Foundation, Edmonton Humane Society, or Stollery Children’s Hospital.
