1966 – 2024

It is with profound sadness that the family of Wilhelmina “Wilma” Jacoba Ohlson, announces her passing on August 31st, 2024, at the age of 57 years.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 34 years, William; sons, Kevin (Becca) and Mitchell; grandson, Kai; parents, Hendrika and Herman Van Alfen; brother, Chris (Judy) De Hoog; sister, Johanne (Doyle) Thornton; father-in-law, Bill Ohlson; sister-in-law, Nancy (Jack) Chawrun; as well as nieces, nephews, friends, and her beloved pug, Rocky.

She was predeceased by her father, Jan De Hoog; brother, Johnny De Hoog; and mother-in-law, Barb Ohlson. Wilma was a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother, and she lived for her family.

A Visitation will be held from 7:00-8:30 p.m. on Friday, September 13, 2024, at Foster & McGarvey Downtown Funeral Home, 10011 114 Street NW, Edmonton. The Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at Trinity Christian Reformed Church, 13427 57 Street NW, Edmonton. The Service will be livestreamed at the following link, https://www.youtube.com/live/baXzRqfejLk. Interment will take place following the Service at Westlawn Memorial Gardens, 10132 163 Street, Edmonton.

Memorial Donations may be made in Wilma Ohlson’s name in lieu of flowers to Spinal Cord Injury Alberta, 400-11010 101 Street, T5H 4B9.

The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at the Royal Alexandra Hospital, Glenrose Rehabilitation Hospital, Grey Nuns ICU, and Trinity CRC.
