It is with sadness that we announce the passing of David Alun Lloyd on October 1, 2024, after a year-long battle with pancreatic cancer. He will be remembered as a loving and generous husband, father, grandfather, and friend, a much-loved colleague, boss, and a passionate golfer.

David was born in November of 1949 in Edmonton, where he lived for most of his life. He always loved being outside and in nature. This fueled his study of forestry and soil science - the field he would work in until he retired in the spring of 2024. David started his career working for the Government of Alberta in land reclamation, a job he held for almost 30 years. He then moved into environmental consulting and in 2009, he began working for the Alberta Institute of Agrologists (AIA) as CEO, a role he enjoyed very much. While still a student in Vancouver, David met his wife of 49 years, Linda. They had 3 children: Merrin, Adrienne, and Robyn. They also owned 4 very special dogs. David loved spending time with his family. Together they enjoyed many ski trips, camping trips, and motorhome journeys over the years. He will be greatly missed, but we are thankful for the many wonderful memories we have of him.

David is survived by his wife, Linda Lloyd; daughters, Merrin Fennell (Carson Fennell), Adrienne Eymundson (Darren Eymundson), and Robyn Lloyd; grandson, Isaac Eymundson; and sister, Carolyn Hyndman (Bill Hyndman).

A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 19, 2024, at Foster & McGarvey Downtown Funeral Home, 10011 - 114 Street, Edmonton, AB, T5K 1R5.
