October 9, 1958 - October 26, 2024
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Joanne Sylvia Cupido who went to be with her Lord and Saviour on October 26, 2024. She was a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, daughter, sister, sister-in-law and friend to many.
Joanne was born in Edmonton, AB on October 9, 1958 to Jess & Harriet Vanderveen of Abbotsford, BC. She was the second of four children in her family. In 1970 she and her family moved to Abbotsford, BC in her younger growing years... but, she returned back to Edmonton, AB with a friend to scout out new opportunities in 1979. Later, she found her life’s partner in Peter Cupido... the rest was history. They married in 1981 and together they had three children, two daughters and one son.
Joanne was a home maker in the truest sense of the word and eager to please. She was a stay at home mom when her children were born which included their early years. Her biggest love was her children, later her sons-in-law, daughter-in-law and her five grandchildren. She always looked forward to family gatherings in our various homes, fine dinners and her normal... a good glass of wine too!
She will be lovingly remembered and missed by her husband Peter of 43 years, her children Nadine (Dan) Hansma, of Houston, BC, Mark (Heather) Cupido of St. Albert, AB, and Adele (Nathan) McWilliam of Sherwood Park, AB., her grandchildren Jayden, Carter, Kenley, Lyla
and Elise. Her parents, Jess & Harriet Vanderveen of Abbotsford, BC, her brothers, Cal (Deb); Randy Vanderveen both of Abbotsford, BC and sister Shirley (Doug) of Pittsburgh, PA, USA and numerous other extended family members, nephews and nieces.
