On August 3, 2011, Mrs. Epke Eerkes passed away at the age of 101, to be with her Lord and Savior. She is predeceased by her husband, Eppo; son, Thijs; son-in-law, Ron and granddaughter, Wendy. Epke is survived by her children, Ralph (Betty), Ike (Marina), Harry, Alida, Peter (Darlene) and John (Laura); also Phyllis, Anne and Corrie; 20 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren, plus spouses; 2 great-great-grandchildren; church family and friends of many years. Visitation will take place on Wednesday, August 10, 2011 from 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. at Foster and McGarvey Funeral Home, 10011 – 114 St., Edmonton. Please join family and friends for a Celebration of Epke’s life on Thursday, August 11, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Inglewood Christian Reformed Church, 12330-113 Ave. Edmonton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be designated "Student Support", Edmonton Society for Christian Education (ESCE), 14304 – 109 Avenue, Edmonton, AB T5N 1H6 to provide extra assistance for students and families at-risk.
