Sandra Wilkes of Edmonton, Alberta (formerly of Victoria, B.C.) passed away peacefully with her daughters by her side on April 18, 2012. Sandra will be forever remembered by her two daughters, Erin (Brett) Kennedy of St. Albert and Courtney (Matt) Mallon of Edmonton; grandson, Lane Brett Kennedy of St. Albert; mother, Sadie Gallagher of Victoria, B.C.; sister, Hilary (Bill) Braun of Victoria, B.C.; brother, Rob Gallagher of Victoria, B.C.; former husband, Reg Wilkes of Leduc, AB; and numerous relatives, friends and colleagues in Alberta, B.C. and Ireland. Sandra was predeceased by her first husband, David Harris of Victoria, B.C. in 1972 and her father, Robert "Bob" Gallagher of Victoria, B.C. in 1988. A Celebration of Sandra’s life will be held at Foster and McGarvey/Connelly-McKinley Sherwood Park-Mill Woods Funeral Home, 4820 Meridian St., Edmonton (Meridian Street can only be accessed heading SOUTH on Hwy 216 (Anthony Henday); the access is 1 km south of the Sherwood Park Freeway on Hwy 216) on Sunday, April 22, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations in Sandra’s memory may be made to the University of Alberta, noting "Sandra Wilkes Memorial Fund" in the memo portion, Attn: Sean Mowat, Director of Advancement, Faculty of Education, U of A, 4-107 Education North, Edmonton, AB, T6G 2G5. The fund will support the work of individuals counselling children who are suffering from trauma
