of Edmonton
Oct 29, 1913 - Oct 20, 2012
It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved aunt, Constance "Connie" Armstrong, on October 20, 2012, in Edmonton, Alberta. Strong in her convictions and personal beliefs, Connie loved nothing more than a lively discussion involving politics and world news. Born nearly 99 years ago in Kamsack, Saskatchewan, she was proudly Canadian, fiercely independent, and enjoyed a long and rewarding teaching career in many First Nations and Inuit communities. Connie was the last of six siblings and although never married, she leaves numerous friends and family members from across Canada to cherish her memory. There will be no memorial service, however, an informal gathering of close friends and family will be held at a later date. Flowers are gratefully declined. In Connie’s memory, please consider making a donation to the charity of your choice. The family would like to thank Dr. Mehrnoush Mirhosseini and the exceptional staff at Glastonbury Mews for their loving care and support, and for allowing Connie to pass in the comfort of her own home with the dignity she so deserved.
