It is with great sadness that Garth’s family announces his passing from cancer on February 15 2014, at the age of 74. Garth embodied uncompromising love, generosity, and grace; he will be missed by anyone fortunate enough to have crossed paths with him. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Rita; son, Trent (Dianne, granddaughters Kathleen and Sarah); daughter, Alanna (Kim, grandchildren Trevor, Emma and Kristen), and a loving, extended community of family and friends. A Celebration of Garth’s Life will be held at Trinity United Church, 8810 Meadowlark Road NW, Edmonton, AB on Monday, March 3, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. Donations to the "Edmonton Community Foundation" will be gratefully accepted into the F. Garth Worthington Memorial Scholarship to continue Garth's life work in support of choral music students in the Edmonton area.
