VAITKUNAS, Helen With heavy hearts we announce the peaceful passing of Helen on Tuesday, March 4, 2014 at the age of 96. She will be forever loved and remembered by her sons, Joseph (Vicki), George (Karla); grandchildren, Ginger (Lance), Davis (Barbara) and Vanessa (Jack); step-grandchild Adele; great-grandchildren, Madeleine, George, Kate, Grace, Dash and Indra. Helen was predeceased by her beloved husband Peter; son John; and two brothers in Australia. Born a Lithuanian national in Russian territory in 1917, Helen was raised in Kaunas, Lithuania. After arriving in Canada in 1948, she was a long time resident of St. Paul, Alberta. Special thanks to the staff of Canterbury Lane, Misericordia Hospital and Edmonton General Hospital Palliative Care for their support and devotion.
